Preventive Treatment

Fluoride Treatment for Children

A quick, painless application that strengthens your child's enamel and keeps cavities away.

What is Fluoride Treatment?

Professional fluoride treatment is a preventive procedure where a high-concentration fluoride gel, foam, or varnish is applied directly to your child's teeth. This is much stronger than the fluoride found in toothpaste, providing powerful protection against tooth decay.

The treatment takes just a few minutes and is completely painless — one of the simplest yet most effective things you can do for your child's dental health.

How Does Fluoride Work?

🛡️

Strengthens Enamel

Fluoride integrates into the enamel structure, making it more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria.

🔄

Remineralises Teeth

It can reverse early-stage decay by helping the tooth re-absorb lost minerals.

🦠

Fights Bacteria

Fluoride inhibits the bacteria that cause tooth decay, reducing acid production in the mouth.

Who Needs Fluoride Treatment?

  • All children aged 6 months and above
  • Children who drink bottled water (lacks fluoride)
  • Children with a history of frequent cavities
  • Children with orthodontic appliances
  • Children who consume a sugary diet
  • Children who have difficulty brushing properly

FAQs

We recommend professional fluoride treatment every 6 months, ideally at the same time as the routine dental check-up. Children at higher cavity risk may need it more frequently.
Yes. Professional fluoride treatment is safe at the doses used in dental clinics. It has been recommended by the World Health Organization and dental associations worldwide for decades. We always use age-appropriate amounts.
With fluoride varnish (the most common type we use), children can eat immediately. We recommend avoiding very hot drinks for 30 minutes and not brushing teeth for 4–6 hours after application to let the fluoride work.
